Oklahoma Hall of Fame is Hiring an Admissions Associate Near Gaylord, MI

POSTITION SUMMARY: The Admissions Associate is the first point of contact for all Museum guests. Under the direction of the Manager of Museum Education, this position facilitates efficient communication between Oklahoma Hall of Fame staff and the general public, provides exceptional guest experience to Museum visitors, and promotes smooth office operations. This is a part-time position expected to work approximately 20 hours per week, Tuesday - Friday, 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM.

ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide exceptional visitor experience to all Oklahoma Hall of Fame | Gaylord-Pickens Museum guests.
  • Welcome and direct all visitors appropriately, alert relevant staff of special guests and appointment arrivals in a timely manner, following all procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Conduct guest admission sales and accurately log Museum program attendance as needed.
  • Monitor presence of all guests inside Museum, including but not limited to, community partners, volunteers, outside events and program staff, and security personnel.
  • Complete admissions-related opening duties each day as necessary.
  • Promote mission, exhibits, and gift store to guests; respond to guest issues and questions.
  • Answer all main line calls during hours of operation, following correct procedures for phone greeting, call transferring, relaying messages, and collecting and relaying contact information.
  • Maintain daily familiarity with office events calendar, including scheduled meetings and staff absences.
  • Assist with programs and special projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

At least one year’s experience in reception, guest or customer service, or related field.‍

SKILLS:

  • Highly detail-oriented and self-sufficient, with exceptional planning, coordination, and organization skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Resourceful and proactive, with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and maintain deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to represent the Oklahoma Hall of Fame and Gaylord-Pickens Museum in a consistently positive and professional manner to internal and external audiences
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with a high level of tact and diplomacy

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand; must have visual acuity to read and draft reports, memorandums, and other printed matter, and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee will work year-round in both an office environment and outdoors. The noise level in the work environment varies from quiet to loud; situations characteristic to working with school-age children are common; and travel to other sites within the metropolitan area are possible.
